Your Comments
  • Would love to do workshop on 14 th May in Dublin, Henry street, for sewing (easy sew top).
    Please, could you confirm availability?
    Thanks
    Eliana

    • Dolores O'Connor 06 May at 14:25

      Hi Eliana,

This is a drop in workshop so no need to book. Hope you enjoy the demonstration.

  • Mary Orpen 06 May at 16:59

Why are there no demonstrations in Waterford? I would love to be able to make the easy sew tops. Thanks.

    • Dolores O'Connor 11 August at 13:20

Hi Mary, unfortunately our demos are only in Hickeys stores, and a few Home Focus stores. We hope to get to Waterford soon. We will publish these demos/patterns on the blog after they take place, so stay tuned! Thanks Mary.

    • I would love to see some even a couple of demo's brought to Waterford.

      • Hi Maria,
Thanks for your comment, while we would love to get everywhere around the country - unfortunately at this time our Waterford store does not have the facilities needed to hold the demonstrations.

  • Do you ever run workshops in Waterford?

    • Dolores O'Connor 11 August at 13:21

Hi Susan, unfortunately we won't be running any in Waterford this time round, but we hope to expand soon. We will be publishing all demos and patterns on the blog after they take place, so stay tuned! Thank you for your query.

  • Frances White 20 August at 19:34

very disappointed that there are no bridal events nor any other events that are scheduled to happen in Wexford. Is there any point in my receiving your emails of upcoming offers if they do not apply to the South East of the country?
    Sincerely yours Frances White

    • Alice Goodwin 25 August at 14:33

      Hi Frances,

We're sorry to hear that you couldn't attend any of our demos. We do hope to expand our demos in the near future, and will be sure to let you know via our email updates.

  • Mary Goggin 23 August at 10:46

Thanks for list. Looks great but no good for the south east. Mary

    • Alice Goodwin 25 August at 14:33

      Hi Mary,

We're sorry to hear you couldn't attend one of our demos. We do plan on expanding our demos to more of our stores in future, so I'll be sure to take this feedback on board.

  • Cora Noonan 26 August at 19:41

    Hi there,
My 7yr old son is very interested in learning to sew. Would your 'easy sew skirt' and dress demonstrations be suitable?

    thank you.

    Regards

  • Niamh Travers-Kenny 05 October at 16:38

How busy are the demonstrations, would love to attend one on roman blinds and some Christmas ones. Wondering how many people go roughly and if i should get there early?

    Thanks

    • Alice Goodwin 17 October at 10:11

Hi Niamh. The demonstrations are first come first serve, and can be busy! I would recommend getting there around 15 minutes before the start time to ensure you get a place.

  • Nora Battigan 12 September at 10:17

I would like to take part in demonstration in Blanchardstown on 14th of October 2017 please!

    • Hi Nora,

      Kind Regards,

    • Hi Julie,

  • Please start the sewing and craft demos in Carrickmines again!

    • Hi Eithne,
You'll see now that for Spring 2018 we do have a small selection of demos taking place in our Carrickmines store! We hope to see you there :)

  • Mary Brennan 03 February at 20:25

Why are there no demonstrations in the Kilkenny store???????

    • Hi Mary,
Most of our Demos take place in our Hickeys stores, rather than Home Focus stores. We will look in the future to possibly having some take place in our Kilkenny store!

  • Waterford soon ?

    • Home Focus 26 March at 11:16

Hi Mary, Most of our Demos take place in our Hickeys stores, rather than Home Focus stores. We will look in the future to possibly having some take place in our Waterford store!

  • Joan Murray 23 March at 19:21

Looking forward to going along to the Easter Craft demo tomorrow, 24th March, in Henry Street. I was looking for a contact to compliment a shop assistant in Gulliver Retail Park, Ballymun. When shopping today for oil cloth, she was so helpful and pleasant. I didn't catch her name but she told me she has been working in Hickeys/home Focus for over 40 years. Staff like her are the backbone of great companies. Well done.

    • Home Focus 26 March at 10:58

Hi Joan, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a kind comment. We hope you really enjoyed the demo on Saturday! Your comment will be passed on to management and to the Santry store!

  • Hi hickeys limerick, unfortunately a lot of your elderly customers are unable to walk up the extremely steep stairs in your cruises street shop.
Can u please hold the workshops on your ground floor?
Can u consider installing a lift so people can get upstairs to your fabrics, patterns and craft section?
You are excluding a lot of customers, who have been very loyal to you for many years,as they can’t get up your steep Everest shop.
The polish lady’s shop on William st does not exclude people the way your shop does.
    / thanks Anna

    • Home Focus 11 October at 14:24

Hi Anna, We understand how inconvenient it may be to have the demos upstairs in our Limerick store which doesn't have a lift. We do apologise for the inconvenience. Unfortunately there isn't enough space downstairs to host the demos and are unable to install a lift in the near future. May I suggest placing your order to the store over the phone and getting delivered directly to your home?

  • Fella Jumamil 16 September at 16:57

do you have any sewing class sessions, besides from free craft demonstration?many thanks

    • Home Focus 09 October at 13:05

Hi Fella, while we offer free craft demos every season, we do not provide sewing classes. Please check with your local store for suggestions.

  • Mary T ODonovan 17 September at 23:59

Five centers providing demonstrations in Dublin and none in Cork, I wonder why? The Mahon Point store would be very well attended if this service was provided there I’m sure, and I will watch this spot to see when this omission is rectified.

  • Attracta Berkery 10 October at 12:51

Is there only one demonstration in Northside? Now over.
Are you planning any in Gullivars, Santry?

    • Home Focus 11 October at 14:19

Hi Attracta, the Northside demonstration was on last week indeed. We do not host the demos in Santry but we have a few in Blanchardstown in the above schedule. I hope that helps!

  • Catherine White 07 February at 14:32

Looking forward to classes. Have really enjoyed the ones I have attended.

    • Hi Catherine - Thanks for your kind comment. So glad you've enjoyed them and we look forward to seeing you this round!!

  • Rita Briody 13 February at 00:11

Delighted to see Roman blind making. Will keep it mind

  • Rita Briody 13 February at 23:14

What requesites are necessary to do the Roman blind class?

    • Hi Rita - you need only bring yourself! They are demonstrations rather than a hands on class and are very informal - you just show up (bring a pen and paper to take notes). Our demonstrator will talk you through step by step from figuring out measurements to fitting the blinds to a track. Hope we see you there!

  • Tracey Doyle 16 February at 19:30

    Hi,
Do you have any dates for Waterford please?
    Thanks,
    Tracey

  • Teresia Hayes 25 March at 11:34

hi I would like to attend some of your demonstrations can anyone come to them and are they held in the shop.

    • Hi Teresia, Yes anyone can attend the demos - the more the merrier! They are held in the stores as listed - just show up on the day and enjoy.

  • Hi wondering if there will be new dates coming up for the free class demo in Dublin Henry street from August 2019

    Thanking you
    Ramona

    • Home Focus 31 July at 14:32

Hi Ramona, we will run a new cycle of free demos in the Autumn starting in September. Stay tuned!

  • Hi,

Just wondering when these courses might be on again.

    Thanks.

    Tina.

    • Hi Tina,
We still have to finalise the dates but they will be starting back early to mid September - keep your eyes on our social media and blog for updates!

  • Is it okay to do some of the classes

    • Hi Cherith, yes absolutely. They are free of charge and open to all. There is no need to register.
