What is the refund policy at Home Focus & Hickeys?

Online Purchases:

  • Right to Cancel: Under the European Directive on Distance Selling you have a statutory right to return goods purchased online within 14 days of receiving your order. During this cooling off period you are entitled to receive a full refund including delivery charges. This 14 day period begins the day after you receive the item(s) from us. Used goods do not qualify for returns under Right to Cancel.
  • After this cooling off period, you may return items within 30 days*
  • Click & Collect orders can be returned within 30 days of notification of availability in specified store*
  • Goods discounted by 50% or more must be returned within 14 days of receiving the order*
  • Returned items must be complete, in perfect condition, unused, unwashed and in all of the original packaging.

*Terms & Conditions (This does not affect your statutory rights):

  • Duvets and Pillows will not be accepted for return if packaging has been opened, due to hygiene reasons.
  • Duvet covers & Bed Linen will not be accepted for return if the packaging has been opened, due to hygiene reasons.
  • Ready Made Curtains cannot be returned if the heading tape has been pulled. Original packaging must be intact.
  • Cut Fabric and trimmings cannot be returned as these are specially cut for your order.
  • Special Order Curtain Poles cannot be returned. This pertains to curtain poles that we order from a supplier company especially for you after you have placed your order (outlined on the curtain poles product pages if applicable).

In-store Purchases:

  • If you are not happy with your purchase you may return it up to 30 days after purchase, along with store receipt*
  • Goods discounted by 50% or more must be returned within 14 days of purchase, along with store receipt*

  • Cut Fabric and trimmings (and any items sold by the metre) can only be refunded at remnant value (50% of the retail price)
  • Special Order Curtain Poles cannot be returned. This pertains to curtain poles that we order from a supplier company especially for you after you have placed your order.
  • Patterns and Pattern Books cannot be returned. 
  • There is no refund or exchange on Custom Made Blinds or Curtains.

How do I return an item?

Online Purchases:

1. Return to a store: You can return an item to any of our 17 Home Focus or Hickeys Fabrics stores. For store locations please visit our store locator. Please note that your items will be sent back to our central warehouse where your refund will be processed. Please allow 7-10 working days.

2. Postage: If you cannot visit a store you may return your item by post to Returns Department, Hickey & Company, Parkgate House, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8. Items returned by post are at your own expense (unless faulty). We strongly recommend that you use a tracked delivery service for this method of return.

In-store Purchases:

You can return an item to any of our 17 Home Focus or Hickeys Fabrics stores along with store receipt. For store locations please visit our store locator. Any refunds/exchanges sought without a receipt are at the store manager’s discretion.

When will I receive my refund?

Online Purchases:

All online refunds are processed in head office. (If you returned your order to a store, your items will be sent back to our central warehouse on the next available delivery van.) Once returned items have been approved, you will receive your refund via the same payment method used to make your purchase. Please allow 7-10 working days. You will receive an email from us with confirmation of your return.

In-store Purchases:

You will receive your refund via the same payment method used to make your purchase. Please allow 3-5 working days for funds to appear back on your card.

What about Faulty Goods?

Items can be returned outside this period if they are found to be faulty, but please take extra care to read the specific care instructions provided with your purchase. We cannot accept an item returned as faulty if the appropriate product care instructions have not been followed and the damage caused to the product is due to wear and tear or misuse.
